We can reflect on a fine season
in which we came third in the league, and were runners up in both
the Cleveland and Kerridge Cups.

Welcome New Marske
Cricket Club web site. We play in the Cleveland League First
Division and the Middlesbrough Midweek League. This site
has been built as part of the development program to raise
the profile of the club. We have a long term plan to turn
New Marske Cricket Club in to one of the top clubs in the
area. The site will contain information about the club and
contain match reports fixtures and all the latest news.
If you would like to advertise on the site contact me via

We can happily reflect on a successful season in the Cleveland
League First Division. And look forward to the coming season.
Last season was marked by a never say die attitude when
the team recovered several times from certain defeat to
snatch victory with a series of spectacular performances.
Next season, the first
team are hoping to build on a good season last year in which
they finished third in the first division, and we runners
upin both the Cleveland and Kerridge Cup being narrowly
beaten on both occasions.
The team benefitted from som superb
batting performances in which we were represented 4 times
in the leagues top ten by Gary Alderson, Jez Alderson, Geoff
Taggart and Stuart Wood.
The bowling department were also well
represented in the league top ten with Geoff Taggart Chris
Robson and Tim Broome being the top performers.
Last season was encouraging
for many reasons, firstly for the resilience of the side,
whenever we appeared in trouble someone always came to the
fore.
New marske got to both major Cup finals, facing Loftus A in both and being narrowly beaten with 2 balls to go in a high scoring Cleveland Cup Final at Staithes. And then the following week coming within 2 wicket of beating Loftus in the Kerridge Cup final held at Loftus.
We look forward to next season with many
positives, Gary Alderson is now back bowling at full pace
again and will be a welcome addition to the bowling attack.
An influx of quality new players will really help us in
our goal of beating last years third place finish.
The way the players have responded to an
elongated series of nets was very encouraging the turnout
was the best we have ever had and the general levels of
fitness of the team is well ahead of what it was at the
same stage last season. The blend of experience and raw
new talent that we have is a good blend to go forward into
next season looking to win the first division.
New
players are always welcome and we are hoping to get enough
new players to reform the second team for the start of the
2008 season. Feel free to turn up at the nets every Tuesday
night at 6pm.
Terrific
Tim steps out for the club!
Tim
Broome at the finish of
his
fund raising run
Tim Broome has completed
a sponsored run to raise funds for the Club. Decked
out in full cricket gear, complete with pads, gloves
and bat Tim ran from Marske to Saltburn and back again
last Sunday.
Thankfully the weather was kind to
him and despite some bemused looks from local people
and horse riders, Tim managed th complete the run
in half an hour.
His efforts were well worth it and
he raised almost £400 for the club funds, a
portion of which has already been spent on a new practice
net.
This is a magnificent achievement by
Tim to raise so much money and everyone at the club
is very grateful and delighted with his efforts.
All Players will benefit from his efforts
through using the new nets and will hopefully be the
springboard to a season of outstanding fundraising,
which will allow us to continue the further development
of the club and invest in new equipment and facilities.
